Allan was born into a Christian home near Waterloo, ON and trusted Christ as his Saviour at the age of 12. After high school, he studied for three years at Emmaus Bible School (Oak Park, IL) and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, ON) in 1980. He has been a Chartered Accountant for over forty-five years and has extensive experience in auditing, taxation, general business and finance. Allan’s business experience includes practicing public accounting for over thirty years, as well as managing a family fuel oil business during most of that time. Although retired at the end of 2005, several Christian organizations benefit from his accounting expertise. |
Allan has had extensive experience with various Christian mission and ministry organizations, including three years on short-term teams in Bombay, India and Nairobi, Kenya in the late 1960’s with Literature Crusades, now International Teams. This was followed by over three years in Kampala, Uganda in association with Christian Missions in Many Lands, where his primary ministry was managing the Emmaus correspondence school. During the 1990’s, he conducted internal audits for SIM Canada in Bolivia and Kenya. In 1999 and 2002, Allan made visits of over three months each to Papua, New Guinea to assist New Tribes Mission with their accounting needs. Besides presiding as Chairman of the Stewards Canada Board of Directors, Allan has also been active on the boards of the Guelph Bible Conference Centre (Treasurer), HCJB Global (Finance Committee Chairman) and SIM Canada. Allan lives in Elmira, ON with his wife Helena and together they attend Woodside Bible Fellowship, where he has served as an elder for over thirty years. |
Allan has been a Director of Stewards Canada since 1990 and currently is Chairman of the Board of Directors.
